William Duran

William is a distinguished graduate of the renowned Nash Academy, embarking on his illustrious journey into the world of pet grooming in 2012. His passion for the art and science of grooming led him to train directly under the tutelage of the esteemed Vivian Nash, whose expertise became the foundation of William's flourishing career.

​Entering the competitive grooming scene at the tender age of 18, William swiftly made his mark. In a remarkable achievement, he clinched the coveted Best In Show title at the Pittsburgh Pet Expo with his exceptional American Cocker named Palin. This triumph marked the beginning of a series of successes that would define William's presence in the grooming arena.

​Among his many accolades, William proudly boasts the title of Best in Show at the IJA 2018 National Championship and secured a spot in the prestigious IJA Top 10 USA team for the same year. These accomplishments not only showcased his grooming prowess but also established him as a formidable force in the competitive grooming circuit.

​William's commitment to the canine community extends beyond grooming competitions. Actively participating in the American Pomeranian Club and the Houston Pom Club, he is not only a breeder and exhibitor of Pomeranians but has also achieved significant victories in various competitions. His dogs have triumphed at the APC National Specialty, securing titles such as Best of Breed Owner Handled, Select Bitch, and Winners Bitch. Additionally, William has clinched multiple Best in Specialty Shows and Owner Handled Best in Shows, further solidifying his standing in the realm of dog breeding and exhibiting.

​After nearly a decade in the field, William returned to Nash Academy with a wealth of experience and a passion for education. Delving into the educational side of the industry, he is now actively involved in grooming events as a team member of the International Judges Association (IJA). William extends his influence internationally, judging and speaking at events in Asia, contributing to the global exchange of knowledge in pet grooming.

​For William, being an educator has become one of the most rewarding aspects of his journey. With a profound love for sharing knowledge and caring for "man's best friend," he envisions a future filled with opportunities to continue enriching the grooming community through education. With his dedication, expertise, and plans for the future, William remains a driving force in the pet grooming industry, leaving an indelible mark on the world of canine care and competition.
